A Timeless Tudor House at Mason's Cove Wedding | Morgan & Toren

Morgan and Toren’s Tudor House at Mason's Cove wedding in New Franklin, Ohio was the perfect blend of luxury, timeless design, and garden style elegance. Set along the peaceful shoreline of the Portage Lakes, their celebration was thoughtfully planned from beginning to end—filled with meaningful moments, beautiful details, and a relaxing summer atmosphere that reflected who they are as a couple.

From the moment the day began until their final private boat ride at the end of the evening, this wedding was truly unforgettable. As their wedding coordinator, I truly enjoyed working with Morgan and Toren to help bring their vision to life. They were a joy to spend time with and be around and their love for each other was abundantly apparent.

A Love Story That Was Meant to Be

Like many modern couples, Morgan and Toren technically met on Bumble — but their connection ran deeper than a dating app. During their first date, they quickly realized they shared numerous mutual friends from their time at Kent State University. Looking back, they’re convinced their paths must have crossed long before that first date.

Their engagement story was just as magical. Toren proposed beneath the grand Christmas tree inside Cleveland’s historic Arcade — one of Morgan’s favorite places during the holidays. What made it even more special was that Morgan had always secretly imagined getting engaged there, though she had never told Toren. With the help of her best friend Carly, Toren orchestrated a surprise proposal that left Morgan completely shocked and overwhelmed with joy.

After the proposal, Toren took her to Platform Brewery — the place where they had their first date and celebrated their first anniversary — where their family and closest friends were waiting to celebrate. It was the perfect beginning to their next chapter.

Why They Chose the Tudor House at Mason’s Cove

When it came time to choose a venue, Morgan and Toren knew they wanted an outdoor summer wedding with a tented reception. The Tudor House at Mason's Cove wedding venue immediately stood out because it offered everything they were searching for.

Located on the water at Portage Lakes, the property combines scenic views, lush green space, and a beautiful tented reception area — all in one location. Having the ceremony, reception, and getting-ready spaces onsite allowed them to fully enjoy their day without worrying about travel or lost time in their timeline.

The waterfront setting also held personal meaning. Morgan’s family spends a lot of time on the water together on their pontoon boat, so being able to incorporate a boat into the wedding day made the celebration even more special for them and their families.

A Timeless Garden-Inspired Design

Morgan had always envisioned a garden-inspired wedding filled with greenery and soft summer florals. To complement the natural beauty of the venue, the couple chose a neutral color palette that felt timeless and elegant.

The design focused on elevated simplicity — beautiful décor that felt intentional but never overly formal. The tented reception space looked stunning against the lakeside backdrop, while thoughtful details helped create a relaxed and welcoming environment for guests.

Morgan took hold of her timeliness, garden-inspired vision and DIY’d so many of the important and beautiful details. She individually created every guest's menu, every table number and all of the important signage.

One of the biggest projects that Morgan tackled was the seating chart display. With a theme of “Our Best Buds”, the seating chart featured flower boxes, adorned with beautiful florals from Nikki’s Perfect Petals, and each guest name individually listed on acrylic signage. Morgan admits this was a huge undertaking but was able to enlist the help of many friends to accomplish. It was truly stunning and served as a statement piece for the entire reception!

Meaningful Moments & Details Throughout the Day

One of the things that made this Tudor House at Mason's Cove wedding so special was the number of meaningful moments and details woven throughout the day.

Morgan spent the morning getting ready in the on site bridal suites with her bridesmaids. She chose to get dressed in the historic homes breakfast nook. Featuring vintage floral wallpaper and lots of natural light, it was the perfect space to put on her wedding gown with the help of her mother. Morgan also got to experience a heartfelt first reveal with her dad that the photographer Kailey so beautifully captured.

Toren and his groomsmen enjoyed spending time in the groom’s speakeasy - a dedicated space for the groom and his guys featuring custom lockers, bar, and antique barber chair.

Before the ceremony, Morgan and Toren shared a private “first touch,” exchanging personal vows while holding hands around a corner. It was a quiet, emotional moment that helped calm their nerves before walking down the aisle.

Once the “first touch,” was complete, Toren and his groomsmen got to go on the pontoon boat for a quick trip to the renowned lakeside establishment Dano’s. After a quick drink together, Toren and his groomsmen entered the ceremony directly from the pontoon. It was such a unique and special moment and started the ceremony in the perfect way.

The ceremony processional was played by a string trio from City Six Strings, setting the scent for a romantic and loving ceremony to come. During the ceremony, Morgan & Toren incorporated a beautiful ring warming tradition where immediate family members passed the rings and prayed over them before they were exchanged.

Following “I do,” Morgan and Toren took a few moments alone together to soak in the experience before rejoining their guests. This was a special moment for the couple and truly gave them a personal and intimate touch to a huge moment.

Additional personal details that made the wedding unique included customized cocktail napkins adorned with the couples cats, an audio guest book where guests could leave the couple a message, and a special cigar bar that also honored the bride’s grandfather.

At the reception, the couple honored loved ones who were no longer with them by having their photo at a place setting. It was a simple and intentional gesture, but deeply meaningful— a subtle way to acknowledge how loved and missed they were while still feeling their presence as part of the celebration.

Later in the evening, the couple enjoyed a private cake cutting and champagne toast. Another special moment they were able to enjoy together as apart of their celeberation!

A Celebration Their Guests Will Never Forget

It was important for Morgan and Toren to have their wedding be just as memorable for their guests as it was for them — and they succeeded.

Between the incredible food from LaLa in the Lakes, delicious drinks from the Thirsty Goose, a mouth watering dessert table from Sugar Shananigans, the lively reception with music from Beach Boyz Entertainment, the pontoon boat rides, and the relaxed lakeside atmosphere, guests had a truly unforgettable experience.

The night ended with a private last dance followed by a quiet boat ride across the lake before heading to their after-party.

Bringing the Vision to Life

As their wedding coordinator, my role was to ensure all of Morgan and Toren’s thoughtful details came together seamlessly. From managing vendors and overseeing décor installation to guiding the timeline and guest flow, I worked behind the scenes so they could fully enjoy every moment.

Watching their vision come to life — from the ceremony overlooking the water to the joyful celebration under the reception tent — was truly an honor.

Thank you to the other vendors for all their hard work and collaboration to make this stunning day a reality!
